Joomla Forum Search
Hi, i feel that there should be a search to just use the forum. (forgive me if i'm wrong, i'm new here), but i believe that the only search is in the top right of the screen, and that isnt forum-specific.

Yay. Thanks. I did detect a bit of snideness there... but whatever.
I just normally look for the little input rectangle/oval when i am looking for a search on a website; not a menu item text.

Re: Joomla Forum Search
no snideness, just a gentle nudge, being snidey would be in 150 bold or even a screenshot with a big circle and arrows to it.
you can also filter the forum box search (powered by G) to different areas if you wish.

Re: Joomla Forum Search
... for love of Joomla why forum search is only for logged in users ? If I want to search on forum, first I need login with strong password like to NASA website.
For love of Joomla ... please!
I am so close to write list of unlogical, useles functions in joomla and joomla website. So many ''features'' what makes Joomla so complicated for normal users, that all these users just leave website and use something else instead of Joomla.

Re: Joomla Forum Search
Forum search box on the top right is powered by Google Search and available for everybody - logged in and not logged in. That search option can do a Joomla.org website wide (over all subsides!) search, or you can limit it to "Forum" by pressing the forum tab.FlashRebel wrote:... for love of Joomla why forum search is only for logged in users ?
The forum's phpBB3 powered "Advanced Search" option uses more server resources and is therefore only available for logged in users via the "Search" menu...
I understand that it might seem useless to you because you don't know the reason why it was implemented the way it is.FlashRebel wrote:I am so close to write list of unlogical, useles functions in joomla and joomla website. Actually, the top right search box (powered by Google) to search over all different Joomla.org websites was a much requested feature in the past.
