Coding Error templates/beez_20/html/modules.php file

Post by wdiggles » Fri Sep 30, 2011 3:05 pm

Joomla 1.7.0

In the templates/beez_20/html/modules.php file

Line 24 is coded this way:

Code: Select all

class="backh"><span class="backh2"><span class="backh3"><?php echo $module->title; ?></span></span></span></h><?php echo $headerLevel; ?>>
When I 'show' menu module title in position 7 there are extras characters added 3> which is caused by the extra > in the code. To fix the issue I changed the code from:

Code: Select all

</h><?php echo $headerLevel; ?>>

to:

Code: Select all

</h<?php echo $headerLevel; ?>>
Now the extra characters are not displayed.

I uncovered the same error today.
It's worth noting that not only are there superfluous characters but the entire page may well render in the same font as the menu because the (e.g.) </h3> (to close the menu's <h3>) is not created.

I came across this too. I also had the same weird problem in v1.5. The moment I edited the file, the error showed up. I couldn't even fix it by reversing it to it's original content. So, by just saving the file, the error show up.

Editing the file as wdiggles say fixes the problem.

Same here - Unfortunately, Googling for "Joomla 2.5 3>" and "Joomla module header 3>" did not locate this thread, and I had to figure it for myself. I only found this thread by searching for "echo $headerLevel;"
