Problem when I try to edit template

Hello everyone, im currently been using Joomla! for like 2 weeks and I recently been expecting few problems when I try editing a template. I insert code, save it but the changes doesnt show on my website. When I click inspect element on website the code I inserted isnt there, yet in my main php the code I inserted is showed as saved. Also if I insert code up in some certain point above it shows on website. Am using Joomla! version 2.5.4. Any sugestions? Im going nuts, been here stuck like 4 hours.

Please always upgrade to the latest Joomla version within the same series first before trying to solve errors with an older version. Possible bugs might have been solved in the meantime, and it's a waste of time trying to solve issues that are caused because of non-updated software...

The latest version in the 2.5 series is Joomla 2.5.24 and in the 3.x series Joomla 3.3.3: http://www.joomla.org/download.html
