Small Gift Site (Beta)
This is my first Joomla site. I am excited to be at this point and looking forward to a June release, if all goes well.
www.sleepticket.com/joomla
The store will be closed until June. I want to make sure I am able to fill any orders that come in.
The design was created using Adobe Illustrator.
I am using the VirtueMart component.
I have spent a couple of months tweeking and twisting to make everything work. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Your comments are welcome. (obviously)

Your site is very well done and the unique design is quite refreshing to see. I have bookmarked it for future perusing. ![Smiley :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Small Gift Site (Beta)
Thank you MMMedia. I am really glad you like it. I was kind of nervous because it is so different.
This has really been a learning process for me and I am very grateful. I have been at the bottom of a very steep learning curve.
I have added a short list of 'thank yous' to my site.

Thanks again.

Re: Small Gift Site (Beta)
Thank you both
. I am really glad you like it.
I am still tweaking some of the details. It really seems like it is the hardest thing to make the browsers behave. A pixel is a pixel right?
I can spend an hour setting up something just right for FF and then I view it in IE6 and everything goes crazy. IE7(beta) is worse. Images just dissapear.
I guess, once I have some more experience of what to and what not to do, things will get easier. For now, it is a bumpy road.![Huh ???](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)
Thanks again.

& mozami- I've only had a minute to jump on your site, but it looks cool. Ill check it out more late tonight when I have ample time.

Re: Small Gift Site (Beta)
Tim,
I havent even posted my site here as yet because its still in beta. I dont have ie7 installed but from what i see at http://www.danvine.com/iecapture/ its pretty bad. I dont like IE but i do have to respect my visitors. My current site does validate both CSS+XHTML and is tableless but ie doesnt want all that does it...?
So for me the journey is just starting... tweaking pixels here, adding a hack there.. just to get it to render properly everywhere..

Re: Small Gift Site (Beta)
Please forgive me for saying this like I did:
I was just frustrated. And the browser difference problem really is not that bad.
Mozami,
Thanks for the link to that tool.

Re: Small Gift Site (Beta)
Hello again everyone. It has been many years since I posted, but I just reinstalled my site on a new server. Using joomla still rocks! I have added one component, an mp3 player by Jeroen Wijering. It was very easy to pick up and navigate again. I have had no major issues to speak of.
I am no longer using VirtueMart, because it took me a while to get set up the first time. I am presently wrestling withh CSS in IE issues.
I figured since this post has been buried a while and I am back on line, I could use some fresh feedback.
Thanks yall,
Tim
