Access Denied - front end only

Post by zenrab33 » Tue Nov 21, 2017 6:58 pm

Hello
A client has a site on Joomla 2.5.14. I can login to the admin panel, no problem. But the main site just has an Access Denied message. No error code or anything, just the 2 words, Access Denied.
Can anyone offer any insights as to what may be causing this?

Many thanks
Jo

hi.
first - make full backup and place (not run!) locally.
second - you must update site, at least to 2.5.28 because it may be hacked.
after - scan by anti-viruses.

Try changing the template to default and temporarily unpublishing the third party extensions.

in the backend change your joomla template with the default one if you are using third party templates and then unpublish the module one by one and see if the website frontend loads.

Also verify the that the default menu for homepage is connected properly.
