New and Old website different hosts

Hi,

I hope someone can help me out with the following problem:

I have an old joomla website at hostA (and previously at domain.com)
I created a new website at hostB and linked domain.com to the new website, this works.

I want to link the old website (at hostA) to the subdomain old.domain.com and have filled in the ip address of hostA
However, when I go to the ip address of the old host (or old.domain.com) I see "Apache is functioning normally".
When i go to ipaddress/~user I see my old website.

I've tried changing paths, but nothing worked so far.

Using just the IP address takes the browser to the default site, the first virtual host in the sequence. This is standard behaviour.

You need to ask hostA to redirect the requests for old.domain.com to the virtual host serving your domain, which in practice means changing the ServerName in the virtual host definition from domain.com to old.domain.com.
