Look at the file configuration.php. What do you see for the line "$db_type = " ???

Do you know how to locate files with cPanel? Do you have a facility called "File Manager" perhaps?

Perfect, I could change it to Mysqli. Now how can I upload it to cPanel. I was following the instructions but from option number 3 onwards I can't find it.

The website is running J! 2.5.28 (and, therefore, PHP 7 is either not being used or, if it is being used, it won't work with that version of J!).

We need to know from the OP the exact version of PHP that they're using with this website.

You will need to check if you have enabled Mysql and/or Mysqli for your version of PHP 5.6. It should be configurable from cPanel. Talk to your webhosting provider.

Alternatively, you can post the Forum Post Assistant report for your website (see the pink area at the top of this page for more information about that tool) and we will then be able to see what PHP options you have enabled.

Let's break it down.

You have a file named configuration.php on you webhost.

You copied this file to your PC and made some changes to it.

You have a file on your PC named configuration.php and you want to copy it to your webhost.

Have I correctly understood what you have done? If I have not correctly understood what you have done, please tell me what I have misunderstood. Thanks.
