YET ANOTHER slow Joomla Question

Post by redknite » Thu Dec 19, 2013 12:45 am

Hi Guys
The site im working on is a joomla 2.5 site (i just updated it to 2.5.17). I turned caching on in the system global config, and i can't seem to speed it up.

The problem is that there is a "hang" on load. When i go to gtmetrix.com it says that getting the index is waiting for 1.33 seconds.

Thank you VERY much for any help.

the site is www . allure192 .com (no spaces)

enable gzip compression and enable caching that's what i got after checking your site in gtmetrix website. You can enable gzip if you visit the global configuration page.

Caching will help. I noticed when browsing the site when I went back to pages I had already been to that they loaded very quickly, which is normal with browser caching.

Gzip only tends to help when there is a lot of stuff being downloaded, but there are only 12 actual requests for items on the site, so I doubt enabling it will help much. Normally you see a lot of CSS and JavaScript files being downloaded, so you've done well keeping that number down.

The wait time is the server accepting the connection and getting the site ready to serve. With how little is going on on the site it shouldn't take that long.
