Joomla 3.2 + Mijoshop | Slow Site

Post by sander_v_bergen » Tue Feb 18, 2014 10:42 am

Hi there,

I've made a webshop using Joomla 3.2 and Mijoshop.
Everything is working fine, except for the page speed.

Under 'Network' at Chrome DevTools if says 'Waiting' takes about 3 seconds (initial load even up to 10 seconds).
So every page change takes 3 seconds.

How can I improve this? Is there anything I can change Joomla wise, or is it the server?
I'm already using JCH Optimize.

The url is http://beveiligbeter.nl/

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I see I've posted it in the wrong section (J2.5).... Can this be moved to the right place? Thanks :)

Check the MySQL slow query log and see where the bottleneck is happening. 3 seconds is completely unacceptable, especially when you have more than a few visitors. If the MySQL query log is not enabled, then enable it and load the page.

If you want, you can post the MySQL slow query log here so that me or others can help.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply!

I can't seem to find the log :(.
How can I enable it? Or should I ask host?

Thanks again!

Hi,

I've made a local copy of the site (wamp).
When I try to enable the Slow Query Low, I get the following error:
Error displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error

How can I get this to work on:
Wampserver 2.4
PHP 5.4.12
MySQL 5.6.12

Thanks!

Whats your webserver memory limit? Because if your catalog is quite big ,that can affect the page loading speed .

And please use xammp server for local mijoshop installations (also joomla cause issues bcoz of missing php plugin inside the wampserver)

Guy's I am having the same exact issue. I did a fresh install on Joomla earlier this month and also the latest Mijoshop. I have about 300 products on a category and it takes about 3 seconds to load. I've tried extensions to remove the product counts but it doesn't do anything. I've even purchased an extension to fix this because I was getting desperate but that didn't work either. Maybe we can figure this out. Think any kind of custom VQMOD would do the trick? Also I submitted a ticket and they said the speed was fine but yeah it averages at around 3 seconds.

As i said before huge catalogs requires more memory to load sql variables fastly.

So 128-512 mb host memory required for higher sites.
And i found another difficult thing on some templates for example jsn nuru template css and js compression tool directly affecting to page load speed.

If you're using any kind of that plugin settings or template please disable that feature.
