First aid to slow website

Post by mnxfiles » Tue Aug 23, 2016 8:40 am

Hi All you nice people

We have a website running in Joomla 2.5 http://www.descna.com

Ever since the 3.x release the site has just become increasingly slow :( Is this just because it is getting outdated?

Right now we have some exposure for the site and any help on "quick fixes" to increase performance would be much appreciated. Please...

Kind regards
Martin

I'd recommend to update/migrate to the latest Joomla 3.x because 2.5 is end-of-life since december 2014.

You could use some tools like the browser addon Yslow or GTMetrix to analyse the front-end speed of the website.
Those tools will give suggestions for improvements.

Thanks Peter
I know I should make an update to 3.x. But really don't have the time or expertise to do it these days :( Hence the lacking update.

You could use tools like YSlow or GTMetrix to improve Joomla 2.5 websites/templates as well.
However, IMHO optimizing an outdated version/template is a waste of time...
