Pages take exactly 60 seconds to load Topic is solved

Hi All,
I'm new to Joomla and have inherited an older website which has had an issue for the last week. There are plans to upgrade it but not just right now.
Every page takes exactly 60 seconds to load as if something is timing out before the page loads. Turning on debugging shows that the delay occurs after rendering but I have no idea how to debug this further. The Hosting company is adamant there is nothing wrong on the server side. In trying to fix this, i did update PHP from 5.2 to 5.6 which is now causing some minor errors about deprecated function calls but this issue existed before the upgrade so i don't think it is related.

I am looking for suggestions on how to investigate this further.

The folder this is in, has a 777 permission... security risk.

Then after you solved this, get on a huge upgrade mission.. your 2.5.27 has reached end of life years ago.
Upgrading the server from 5.2 to 5.6 is upgrading from one EOL PHP version to the other...

You should upgrade "right now" because it's a sitting duck candidate for hacking. J! 2.5 is not supported. You're also using End of Life PHP versions.

Also, the time spent on debugging such an old site is much better used on upgrading to the newest version.

Otherwise, it's like throwing away valuable resources.

This was the culprit. Removing sections.php brought the performance back to normal. It looks like the gene7conf domain recently went off line however the code has been there from the original install in 2010. I am guessing anyone running an older version of Joomla may experience this issue now.
I also take on board comments regarding upgrading...this is on my list.
