en-GB language pack?
Stupid me!
After installing danish language I thought,"OK. why not uninstall english, this site won't need it".
Now I try to install the new 1.6 version of Kunena, but this is not possible, because the Kernel pack for en-GB does not exist.
This pack does not seem to be available anywhere, so it is impossible to reinstall it. Any way to fix this????

Re: en-GB language pack?
How did you uninstall en-GB?
This is a protected language and, normally, can't be uninstalled via the Extension Manager.
If you have just deleted manually the en-GB site and admin folders, just pick them from a full 1.6.3 pack and manually place them where they should.

Re: en-GB language pack?
I also want an en-GB language pack. When I install joomla, I have a backend without language, only codes. I tried it with two different hosters, they have both the same problem. When I install dutch, I have that language, but en-GB is unreadable.
When I install a component that doesn't use dutch, I have an unreadable component in the backend.
Maybe with a reinstalling of the languagepack en-GB, I can solve that problem?

I've got the same problem. After installing Polish language file, English disappeared. Where is it exactly and why he's gone.

Re: en-GB language pack?
A quick explanation. Language files are still on the server, but english language GB is invisible in the language manager.

Re: en-GB language pack?
Ok. I have found the issue. Something switched my en-EN language. To restore to previous state I went: Backend/Extensions/Extension Manager/Manage
then I choose from drop-down menu: select type/language
then I tick both Component PB-Roster English (one for site, one for administator).
That's it.

Re: en-GB language pack?
Sorry, I have been away.
I have just tried Danstyp's suggestion. But I have no other languages than danish.
@infograf768: I don't exactly remember, but I am pretty sure that I just uninstalled from the backend. I would never dream of just deleteting the folder.

Re: en-GB language pack?
Please open in PHPMyadmin your __extensions table and look if en-GB is present there.

Re: en-GB language pack?
No, there is o en-GB languagepack in the _extensions table. da-DK is the only one.
I have tried to upload the language folder from for en-GB from another Joomla 1.6 installation. I suppose that what's missing is the approprate entries in the various tables. But what tables need updating. I could probably copy the create script for for these tablerows from from the other installation?

Re: en-GB language pack?
Once you have added to your install both language folders, just run this query in PhPMyAdmin.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: en-GB language pack?
Thanks. It looks as if everything is OK now. I suppose that I will not ever again remove this language. But it is a bit strange that I ever suucceeded in renoving it. it shoukd be impossible to uninstall core componets,

Re: en-GB language pack?
By using an en-US pack, you force all your extensions lang files to have the prefix en-US and to be present in the en-US language folders.
