Language problem

Post by alefmemalef64 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 6:41 am

Hi,
I am working on a Joomla 2.5.6 website.
I've installed Contact Enhanced 2.5.7 and Kunena 2.0.1 and I can't get them to translate.
The core language of the site is set correctly, the language files are in their place.
I've checked to see if it's something to do with the language plugin that has to be downloaded with Kunena, but disabling it just caused the pages on which there are forms to not upload.
Help?
Thanks

Are you sure you have the correct ini files for the language you use for these extensions?
Set Debug language ON in Global Configuration and lookif the correct files are loaded, as well as the necessary strings.

This shows clearly that the default ADMINISTRATOR language you use is English.
have you got any other language installed, and also for site?
If yes, have you looked at the debug on the front-end?

Yes, the default Administrator language is English but I've got another language installed and it is the default language for the Front End. Where do I look at the debug on the front-end?

I'm not following. That page only has one place to select Debug Language, can't see anything at the bottom:

This means that your front-end is using the English language and that there is a parsing error in one of the files.

The front-end language being he-IL by default, do you look here at a multilang site in the en-GB part or are you logged in front-end and your default lang is English?

Is your site a multilanguage site?

When looking at the front-end of the site, do you get these debug results (loading of the en-GB ini files) when you are logged in or when not logged in?

The language filter system plugin was enabled. This should not be done on a non multilanguage site.
I disabled it.

Now, look again at your debug results in front-end and care about the unloaded he-IL language files. It means they do not exist. Any parsing error in a file has also to be solved.

Also, you do not need to have a he-IL Content Language created and published as your site is not a multilang site

The he-IL language files don't show up at all in the debug results -
language-debug.png
and I have placed them in the directories -

You, AGAIN, enabled the Language Filter plugin!
I told you to keep it disabled as your site is NOT a multilang site.
I disabled it again.

Look now at debug on front-end

Thank You Infograf768 for your help. I have to load lots of language files so that everything translates, but the forum is now definitely in the language of the website and I've learned some more about working with Joomla. :D
