Website offline - error 404

Hello,

Please help! :-)

I have never worked with Joomla before and somehow I clicked buttons and now the website is offline. How do I get the entire website online again? I can't remember exactly what buttons I clicked as I realised that the website is down only a few hours later.

Thanks!

If the site shows a message that it is offline, you must have been logged in to the back end, using the URL ending with '/administrator', as Super User.

Log in again using your Super User credentials and go to System - Global Configuration. In the Site tab change the option 'Site Offline' from Yes to No. That is all.

If the above did not help, please describe the situation in more detail.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I followed your advise but that was not the problem. :-( Everything looks fine here as it is clicked with NO at "site offline.

I still get this message: https://www.gekko-residences.com/index.php?lang=de

This topic was posted in the wrong sub forum because your site runs Joomla 2.5 but I will move it.

You did not mention that the site is multi-lingual. Try https://www.gekko-residences.com/index.php?lang=en

Ok. EN works. How do I set the site online for DE language?

There are different tutorials showing how to do that for Joomla 2.5:
https://www.scribd.com/doc/82768844/Joo ... n-10-steps
http://multilingual.demojoomla.com/mult ... steps.html
https://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/ ... i-lingual/

In case you have further questions or issues, I will now move this topic to the 2.5 Language sub forum.
