Template won't upload

Post by bdkeane » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:33 pm

I just bought a template for my joomla 2.5.6 and virtuemart 2.06 site and it won't upload. I keep getting this error

Warning: POST Content-Length of 86256872 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Brian

Nope.

Use forum post assistant to give us server config details. Are you on shared hosting?

What amp stack are you using? I use Xampp and out of the box I don't have issues...

No,

What template provider is it? You pay money for it? Free?

Since it's your machine you should just increase limits in php.ini, I've never ran into that issue because I've always configured everything to what I need it for. Maybe an image is too big or something?

Try these settings and keep increasing them

upload_max_filesize = 2000M
post_max_size = 2000M
max_execution_time = 120
max_file_uploads = 7
memory_limit=128M

Just jack everything up, i wouldn't worry too much because it's your own machine. Is it from a reputable source?

I forget where php.ini is found, somewhere in the xampp folder obviously. Google it or dig around for it, or do a search starting with that folder.

Did you restart your server after changing the php.ini files? You have to restart apache, it will read in the settings, and apply them accordingly.

You can't just change stuff on the fly and have it take effect...
