Remove horizontal black bars on sides of website pages

Post by DorsetJoomla » Mon May 18, 2015 9:16 am

Hello, I have a Joomla 2.5 site with Purity 2. I want to have a clear background to my site and remove the black bars on either side of the menu and also at the top of the page. Any suggestions on how to do it? Thanks

Hi,
search for #ja-header in your css file and change background : #333 to background: #6495ED;
or
just remove background property and it will automatically take the blue background.

And for Menu, search for #ja-mainnav
and paste this code :
margin: 0 auto;
width: 95%;
Hope it will work.

The ja-header made no difference and the ja mainnav reduces relative to the screen size not the absolute width of the page. I have tried reducing it to 75%

Top header now fixed by removing background property, just need to get menu width to 100% of page
