Hi there,

Welcome to the Forum, You have some possible solutions, with HTML, CSS and probably some JS,
first you need add your code into your template, find more info here:

- Adding JavaScript and CSS to the page
https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Adding_Jav ... o_the_page

Also you need add your code for the menu position in your template, find info about positions here:

- Declaring module positions
https://docs.joomla.org/Declaring_module_positions

Or you can use an extension for the menu:
http://extensions.joomla.org/category/s ... nu-systems

Cheers.
