Hi,

first-time poster here, so sorry if I make some rookie mistakes. I'm new to Joomla also.
I started a job recently and inherited this website. I want to make some changes at the bottom of the page (http://www.compu2.ie), but can't get rid of this module(if that's what it's called), the one that says: "error, contact not found".

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi, welcome here.... I am doing this by head as it is an older version of Joomla that I no longer have running anywhere...I have no 1on1 reference... doing this blind..


..what it can mean is that the contact person is no longer available in the CMS... (maybe the person who did this before and that has left?)

What I can see from the source, it is a component container.
Also there only seems one page available in the site... no other pages to navigate to.
So when in the admin back end, go to "menus" -> "some default menu".
You now have a list of at least one menu item of which one is also set as default landing page (with a yellow star).
This one points to a contact that is no longer available or not published.
Check which contact. (it may show name or ID).
Close without saving.
In the navigation, go to contacts. Open the list of contacts and check the status of that contact....
It can be disabled or a viewlevel that is not set to public...

I think I found it, but how do I get rid of it completely? (This area should contain some products or services we do, so articles I assume).

Ah yes, As I cannot tell the articles available already nor the categories, I would not be able to tell you.
It can also be a component that holds a product database (which may be out of date as the sites CMS version is pretty outdated too).

By default (upon first joomla setup) it has component - featured articles tied to it...
