Publishing DJ Image Slider 404s the Page

I'm running into a pretty strange problem on a Joomla 2.5.28 site. I have DJ Image Slider running on the home page. The client alerted me that the site was down. I checked it out, and sure enough, the home page returned a 404. I checked the usual suspects, including a trashed or unpublished home page article, incorrect permissions on the home page article, incorrect permissions on the menu item, or an unpublished home menu item. None of these were causing the trouble.

Eventually I traced it back to DJ Image Slider. If I unpublish the slider module, the home page loads correctly. If I assign the module to any other page in any module position in any template, that page will also 404. I've attempted to create a new module, and assign it to a new page, but get the same effect.

Has anyone run into this before? This site changes very infrequently, so I'm not sure what has changed recently that would cause the trouble.

I found the issue, I guess.

I installed the latest version of DJ Image Slider, and the pages load correctly. I'm not sure why an outdated version of DJ Image Slider would cause the page to 404, or why it started just now happening after being in its current state for many months.

In any case, if you run into this same issue, make sure that you are using the latest version of DJ Image Slider (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/dj-imageslider/).
