backend login ok, but returns "component not found"

Post by avatar1349 » Sat Sep 15, 2012 10:24 am

Just made a new webpage for a charity organisation in joomla 2.5.
This runs perfectly on my server (Running FreeBSD) and on my laptop (Linux)
Moved the page to the hosting company (Windows Server) and get, after login in the admin part, "component not found"
Did a standard installation on a test domain and that works fine.
Is there a solution, by editing the source code of the existing website to make the admin part accessible
I looked in /libraries/Joomla/environment/

ANY help would be very much appreciated

AFAIK it does..but found what might be the problem...they haven't installed the URL rewrite plugin and they are not really fortcoming in helping to solve the problem.
Do all my websites in Joomla 2.5 and on Linux server and (of course, FreeBSD, my fav OS) never had any problems...using Akeeba backup its really a piece of cake.
But the decision has been made to move the domains to another hosting company, so I should be good to go

OK marking issue resolved even though by an extreme means (but would certainly agree with using Linux hosting and not Windows ;) )
