URL rewriting in iis server makes sitemap.xml unaccessible

Friends, I have installed joomla2.5 in iis webserver which supports php and everything. Everything works all right except my sitemap.xml file is not accessible from the browser. I am assuming that because I am now using SEO> use url rewriting, my web.config is taking off the file extension part and so sitemap.xml is not opening up. Please help in this matter. Thank you
