Joomla 2.5 administration back-end keeps refreshing once logged in

I need help with our Joomla website.

We are currently running a Joomla 2.5 version. Several days ago when I logged in to create a new article, I was unable to create, edit articles/users/categories/ etc.

When I am on the article manager or category manager page, and want to open up an article or category to edit it or create a new one (or select any other option on the page), the page just reloads. Please help with this.

You need to upgrade joomla to the latest version. 2.5 is too old.
