thanks for everybodies help on this
ive managed to download the fpa tool and these are the results are below now as a fix would this work

If i did a back up from the cpanel
then installed a newer joomla into a different folder then did a restore to that folder using a different dbase / user would that work

You need to change the php and database version then update. imho best way is to install Wamp on your PC

This site is using Joomla 2.5 - an out-of-date and non-supported version of Joomla from 9 years ago. You need to update to a currently supported version of Joomla. 3.10 or 4.x. Joomla 2.5 will not run on PHP 7.4!

The FPA reports this information amongst other things:
