links not working

I am very new at this but I have been managing our churches website and recently our links have stopped working. I may have inadvertently changed something but don't know how to undo what I did, any help would be appreciated.
I am using 2.5.16

Have you installed any extension or template before this issue happened?

Whether anything (e.g., PHP version) changed in the environment?

What is your site's URL so that others can see what is happening and offer suggestions?

Note:
Be informed that Joomla! 2.5 is no longer supported. The last version of Joomla! is 2.5.28 and a security hotfix patch after that.
You have to migrate your site to Joomla! 3.6.5, the latest version of Joomla! Of course you have to do the upgrade in a different environment, test it, and then upgrading the site in the production environment.

Based on your first post, I checked the URL with .org domain extension and i believe that this is the site you are referring to.

After reviewing the URL structure of the links/pages, I assume that the options Search Engine Friendly URLs with URL Rewriting are enabled in the Global Configuration. Check whether a file named .htaccess is available in the directory where Joomla! is installed. If it does not exist, rename the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess

Do you have a back-up of the working site before you made changes?

yes that is the url, for some reason it won't let me post it in the posts. I don't have a backup. I just open browser and log in.as I said it was just dropped in my lap the prior manager refuses to help

I guess I don't have that installed on my computer, it is or was on the secretaries computer at church. I don't know if she changed anything or not. there only change I have made was to the website was under the main menu layout. I changed the intro articles from 4 to 8 and that was all. It had been working until this week I didn't make any changes lately

You have to check wherever the site is hosted from.

Do you have access to the cPanel of the domain/url? You need this to check the files.

thanks for all help, it turns out our Site is hosted by Blue Host, the problem was on their end and it was the htaccess file
