Users cannot login from frontend

Hello guys.

I have an issue with my website. Users cannot login from frontend. When they enter their login details, they get the following message "Please log in or register to view or modify your profile.". This happens for all the users, even for the website administrators.

On the other hand, in the backend I can see that the user is actually logged in, even though he did not manage to login from frontend.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

So they are logged in but cannot access their profile page. That sounds to me like logins are set up to redirect them to their profile page (pretty standard) but that the ACL doesn't give them access to the page. Is you profile menu item (if you have one) set to higher than 'registered' access? Or maybe it's a custom field|? If you've got custom fields in your user profile, are any of them set with access restrictions that might be locking people out? (It shouldn't have this effect, I'm just thinking of other things to try)

Set Protostar as default Template and use the standard Joomla Login.

I found the problem. There was a conflict with the cookies and it wouldn't let the page to refresh when logged in.
