Back -end "not working" HTTP 500 error

Hi all and thanks for any help. The Admin site for https://www.doctortevents.com/administrator/ returns a simple "This page isn’t working http://www.doctortevents.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500"

I know this is an old site and I have finally gotten permission to update it once we get the Admin login to load and work properly.

Any suggestions and assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

try changing the administrator template in the database and see if it works.

You can also try connecting the same database with a clean installation and check if administrator works.

I changed the Admin template in jml_templates_styles from bluestork to hathor but, unfortunately, still get the same original error message.

Any additional suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi subrat, and again, thanks for your help. (Last week I sent you an email (via the Joomla forum link) asking about your consulting availability and have yet to hear from you. Did I send it incorrectly?)

Creating a new Joomla install I can do but that would seem like adding multiple new variables into the mix if my understanding is correct, because a new install would be the latest Joomla instead of the 2.5.9 version this issue is related to.

Having said that, if you or anyone, can post a like to a help article about how to change the Admin database connection, I will still try a new install to help this client.
