Error on site - how to cure problem.

Post by herb200mph » Fri May 24, 2019 1:57 pm

When accessing the 2.5.28 website, the following error is indicated:

"Cannot instantiate object from identifier : com:default.translator"

Does anyone know the cause, and/or, what is the "fix" to remedy this error and get the site running again.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Dont you get any follow up to that error message. Usually there would be some further detail.

Nope, no follow up. When you open the site, that is the error displayed. It might be connected to that awful Koowa framewrok extension that got added at some point back. It has been a problem in the past. But, can't get to admin to do anything about it. We have a parallel clean install of the same version 2.5.28, but when we transfer the old db to it, the site breaks.

This is a nuisance and we told the client a long time ago to upgrade joomla, but alas on deaf ears we spoke.

Nothing that makes sense, or points to anything helpful.

Need to take this installation out behind the barn and shoot it!!!!

Still experimenting to determine if there, in fact, is a solution to the problem.

Trouble is, there is no identification of the problem available, just the error.

A possible issue could be the jf_chrome template, which is having issues.

Accessed the database and disabled the Koowa extension. Site fired right up, along with admin.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Regard.
