Migrating Joomla 1.5 site without database backup

Hi Fellows,
I'd ask to excuse me if my question already has been asked here - I found no answer to my problem.

The case:
I've an old Joomla 1.5-managed Website which was backed up without the corresponding database.
I need the old content to get migrated on a new Joomla 1.6 installation. How can I do this? Besides
the "standard" way of creating the site from scratch, is there another more "automated" way of doing this? I'm newbee in Joomla and the old site was made by a guy who is not available anymore, so
I've no original support for the migration.

I can provide the basic Joomla insfrastructure (Webspace, MySQL 5.x database, successful Websetup for Joomla), but the rest remains in the "fog of war" for me...

I'd be very thankful for assistance and pointing me to the right direction. Some guiding steps to follow also can be very helpful.

If you need additional information about the case, I'll be happy to give it to you if available.

Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards,

sbogus.

Hi There,
Without the database, there is no way of getting back your content. The database is where most (if not all) of the content is stored.
Sorry I cant give you better news

Contact your hosting provider and ask them to restore your site, I have done this a few times.

Hope this helps
