Database problem moving a 2.5 Joomla site to new host

Post by eastcoast » Thu Aug 06, 2015 8:38 pm

I've been working on moving a Joomla 2.5 site to a new server. Using phpMyAdmin I keep getting this error when importing the database

MySQL said: Documentation
#1075 - Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it must be defined as a key

I think you're running into a very old issue - it seems that the database export did not specify the db engine (which should be MyISAM), so instead the default engine on the new server (which is InnoDB) was used. You can resolve this by ensuring that the default engine on the new server is MyISAM or by explicitly specifying that the engine is MyISAM in each of the "CREATE TABLE" statements.
