Issue when updating joomla

Joomla versions 2.5, 1.7 and 1.6 are all end-of-life since December 31st 2014 and are no longer supported. Please use Joomla 3.x instead.

Issue when updating joomla

Hi everyone,

I'm having some problems when i try to update joomla to the lastest version.

First of all, i tried using the component, but it says that my joomla! is the last version. (image attached).

So i started searching in the forums for help, and got to this post: https://docs.joomla.org/Updating_Joomla_(Manual_Method), but whenever i upload the update package (the one i downloaded form the website, the joomla! 3.8 update package) and extract the zip into my joomla folder, i'm not unable to log in into my site anymore (not even see it online).

Can you please help me?

To go from 2.5 to 3x, you need to use a totally different method. See https://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_2.5_to_3 ... _Migration
