Hi, there is probably a really simple solution to my problem, but I am an absolute beginner so please bear with me.
I am currently updating the template for this website: http://robotics.org.nz I would like to keep the layout the same.
However, when I preview the new (not currently active, yet to be set as the default) template in Joomla (Link: http://robotics.org.nz/index.php?tp=1&t ... ectemplate ), the layout is different (the modules are in different locations). How do I rearrange the layout to be the same as it is at the moment? I.E. how do I move the latest news and latest tips boxes at the bottom of the new template the back to the top and remove the "top 1, 2 and 3," and "bottom 1, 2 and 3" boxes?
If it helps, I am using Joomla version 1.5.20 and the new template has been made in Artisteer version 2.6.0.36391 Standard Edition.
Thank you so much for your help!

Re: How do I rearrange the modules on a template?
You assign the modules you want to move to the required position. Go to module manager, edit the module you wish to move, change the "position" option to one that suits your needs.

Add the parameter ?tp=1 behind the URL, e.g. http://www.joomla.org/?tp=1 the reassign the module in desired position

Re: How do I rearrange the modules on a template?
This doesn't make sense to me, as the modules are in the position I want them in for one template, but not for another one. So is the module layout different for each template? Should I change it from being in User 4 and 5 to instead User 1 and 2? Would that fix it?RussW wrote:You assign the modules you want to move to the required position. So i tried that trick with the new template, but then it went to an entirely different template, as seen here: http://robotics.org.nz/index.php?tp=1&t ... plate?tp=1.realz wrote:Add the parameter ?tp=1 behind the URL, e.g. http://www.joomla.org/?tp=1 the reassign the module in desired position
Also, as seen in the current template that is active ( http://robotics.org.nz ) there is a slideshow and a few green boxes ("2010 World Champions!", "Vex Championship Live Updates" and "2011 National Champions"). How do I get these back? Also, the whole of the top bar/menu seems to be missing...
Thanks so much for you help!!!

Re: How do I rearrange the modules on a template?
why have "template=freerangedectemplate?tp=1."
just : http://robotics.org.nz/index.php?tp=1&t ... ectemplate
then you will see the template position, etc top, breadcrumbs then reassign the extension position because when you change template the position name might differ. same with the slideshow, find the plugin/extension reassign it, change the position as for the tab, that's custom module I think, add new module then type the content or reassign in different position provided by the new template

Re: How do I rearrange the modules on a template?
Rearranging of templates is not a big deal, you have to follow just few steps:
Go to module manager, edit the module you wish to move, change the "position" option to one that suits your needs.
