"historygeek" Joomla can't get past index.php

Post by Captainfisher » Wed Feb 10, 2010 6:51 am

Joomla Newbee. I am a graphic artist not a programer. I have replaced my aging hobby site with Joomla Template (5.1.15). Two extensions JoomlaPack and JCE editor along with a simple image program. I load my site using JoomlaPak (zip compression) uploading through my FTP program. Home page loads fine with all modules working. After that, my template goes away and my modules cascade away showing only text. Shows up great on my MAMP local host. I just can't get it to fly on my host server. This is my 5th try using various compression progams thinking that may be my problem. Non profit site/history based.

Some or all of this COULD be due to the

var $live_site = '';

If that is the way your /configuration.php currently reads, add the domain url including "http://"
between the single quotes...

That MAY cure some of your ills.

Also fix your signature, this doesn't comply with forum rules.
Don't HACK the Joomla! core, Instead "Extend" and/or "Override."
Stay ON the update path.

Thanks, that worked. I had to put in the "http://" and that worked.
appreciate you taking the time. Love the interface. I have a lot to learn.
