Arabic File Names

i user joomla 1.7 pack,i installed the component Phocadownload to attach multiple files, whenever i upload files with arabic names it appears with symbols instead of the arabic characters.

do i need to install or change anything to make my joomla support arabic characters?
plz help

You have to change your database collation to UTF-8 general ci

my database is (UTF-8 general ci), and i don't think that the problem is from the database, as i mentioned in my post that i use phocadownload, i tried to upload the file using ftp then i linked it to the article and it appears correctly in the website (see attachements 1) but when i upload the file using the phocadownload uploader it removes the file name or it will appear as i attached in my post

Beleive me, it's all about your database collation
check all phocadownload tables in the database carefully

Can you read Arabic?!

i've checked it and i can read arabic well in the database.
i guess the problem is from the component it self, if have any experience in that module, would u pls help

i dont have the website online now, im just testing it

whenever i upload any file, lets say the file name is : K23(123), the uploader will change the name to be K23 123, which means it doesn't understand some characters and it remove it like the (parenthesis).

if my file name is:فراس 1234
the uploader will remove the arabic and it will only leave the numbers becuse it doesn't understand the arabic letters.

here is attachments to see that i can read arabic in my database.

note: ***the files appear in arabic in the database, those i copied them directly to the directly then i linked them to the website.
***the one without name is the one i uploaded and the uploader remove the whole name because its in arabic.

اسف بخصوص العربية ، لم انتبه ،، واحيانا افضل كتابة مصطلحات الكمبيوتر بالانجليزية، لقد قمت بقراءة الموضوع وتأكدت أن قاعدة البيانات صحيحة من ناحية الترميز وسوف اعطيك مثال من الجداول تجده في الملحقات،،، اريد منك خدمة صغيرة ، ان تقوم بتحميل

وتجربته من ناحية تحميل الملفات وخصوصا ملفات العربية وسوف تعرف تماما معاناتي الحالية ومشكلتي
