granting a user access to upload art content

Post by dwlamb » Thu Oct 11, 2012 2:35 am

Hello all,

I am perplexed as to how to set a level of access for a user with limited Administrator privileges that will be allowed to upload and organise content in Phoca Gallery.

I am new to Joomla! and really stuck as to how I might accomplish this. I have been reading up on the ACL but still unsure if this is even feasible.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Create a new user group called "Phoca Admin Group";
Create an user inside this group;
Create a new access level called "Phoca Admin Access";
From "Viewing Access Levels" list, click on "Special" and select the checkbox in front of the "Phoca Admin Group" group.;
Go to "Global Configuration" > Permissions tab and click on the "Phoca Admin Group" name;
Change the settings for the first two actions (Site Login, Admin Login) from "Inherited" to "Allowed".
Now go to Components > Phoca Gallery > Options (on the upper right);
Click on the name of your group "Phoca Admin Group" and change the settings for the following actions: Access Administration Interface, Create, Edit, Edit State from "Inherited" to "Allowed".

Don't forget to "Save & Close" after every step.

Him, I tried this, but whatever I do, only Superuser has access to Phoca from admin panel. Al over groups get a Selected setting "allowed" but conflict, so the actual setting is "not allowed".
Any idea on this?
Thanks
