Menu ACL Edit State

Post by dagger2002 » Fri Jan 25, 2013 7:32 pm

Hey All

I am having an issue with one of my custom groups. I am unable to edit state in menu manager.

I have the following acl setup
Content Editor
> Content 1
> Content 2
> Content 3
> > Content lvl3 dept
When I look at the permissions I have them set like this:
content 3
> Config Inherit
> Access Allow
> Create Allow
> Delete Allow
> Edit Allow
> Edit State Allow
But When I login with my level 3 editor I get the following error when I trash an item, or unpublished it.

Code: Select all

Edit state is not permitted
Any Suggestions would be greatly Appreciated.

Is it possible that under some other group you set the permission for Edit State to Deny? If so, the user is probably also a member of this group. If under any group that a user belongs to a permission is set to Deny, then that user is denied regardless of the settings of other groups.

When the ultimate permission for a user is determined, a single Deny always wins over any number of Allows. That is the main reason why Deny should almost never be used.
