Configure Access Levels

Post by flowpro » Tue Mar 19, 2013 3:34 pm

Hi,

I wanted to know how to make registered users of my site be able to add articles only of 1 category.
My issue is that when someone logs in they are able to edit any article in my site, and I need them only to be able to add new article to an specific category and not be able to edit any of the others.

Any idea of how to make this happen.

Thanks so much.

Editing articles has nothing to do with access levels. Rather, you control actions like creating and editing articles with permissions.

Assuming you want to allow any registered user to be able to create and edit content, do this... Go to the category for which you want to allow them to create/edit articles. Click on permissions, open the slider for Registered, and "allow" the permissions you want to grant. You might want to grant Edit Own instead of Edit. Save the category. That should be all you need to do.
