I'm building an intranet with Joomla 2.5. The intranet must have a public page with some public information.
For registered users, I want to show news articles on the homepage.

My home-page menu has permissions set tot guest&registered. I't shows highlighted articles with the standard Joomla component by showing articles from categories "public" and "registered". The public category has permissions set to "public" and "registered", the registered category has permissions set to registered users only.

On the homepage, all articles from both categories are shown, also articles from the registered category. Even when I give the article itself only registerd permissions, it still is shown when no one is logged is.

Am I not thinking the correct way, does the permission of the menu overwrite category and article permissions, or is this a bug?

If this is default behaviour (why is that?), how can I make a selection of articles not showing up on the home page when no one is logged in?

regards, Rini
