Make subscribing to topics here automatic

Post by GillianBPP » Thu Oct 28, 2021 11:54 am

I keep missing answers to my topics because I forget that - unlike most other forums/github etc I belong to - I am not subscribed automatically.

Is there a reason for this? (I don't mean my forgetfulness, btw ;) )

Do you mean the Joomla! Forum? If the answer is Yes, then you could subscribe to a topic by visiting the User Control Panel (ucp.php). You could also bookmark a topic if need be,

I think a lot of people have problems like yours. These are the settings that I use with this forum:

Thank you.

I also found this setting, where the last one -
Edit posting defaults > Notify me upon replies by default > Yes/No is 'No' by default.
joomla-forum-settings.jpg
I think that was what I was looking for.

Having made those changes, do you now receive notifications by email?

There is one other place where you can change the notification setting:

Thanks for pointing that out. That option only appears for the individual post rather than automatically for all, but at least it's there.
