Problem with account on Mattermost server

Hey all,
I have a problem with my account on the Joomla! Mattermost server, it's a longer story but I want to tell it so hopefully someone can help me :)

I registered myself in the Joomla Identity Portal shortly after the JoomlaDay DACH 2024 to join the Mattermost server and everything went well.
After a while I got a new email-address and wanted to change it in the Identity Portal - however I never received the confirmation mail to finally change the registered email to my new one. In the meantime I changed the email-address of my account on the mattermost server to my new email. A few days later I tried again to change the email as well on the Identity Portal - again I hadn't received the confirmation mail.
Since I wasn't really active in Mattermost I decided to just delete my Identity Portal account and just re-register with my new email. I thought by deleting my Identity Portal account, my account on Mattermost would be deleted too. (For some reason I get the confirmation mails for the registration but not for the email-changing.)

I found out that I was still logged in in my Mattermost mobile app and wanted to re-login with my new Identity Portal account. I thought that maybe I was just logged in because of an old token or something like that and hadn't give much thought about why I was able to just be on the Mattermost server with my supposed deleted account. Then I logged off to login again. And now everytime I want to login with my new Identity Portal account I just get the message that the email-address is already taken on the server and I can't get back in.

I haven't found any email or contact form to contact someone to help me get back in so I try it here now.
If some official reads this: Can you please contact and help me? :)

Sorry for the long explanation but I wanted to make sure that someone who is willing to help me understands where the problem came from.

Your situation is not the first I have heard of. It is always the changed e-mail address that Mattermost does not process correctly and that causes problems.

In my opinion, the best contact person for your problem is Harald Leithner.

Harald is also registered here in the forum (@hleithner), but is rarely online. Maybe you can reach him via a private message.

The best thing to do is to open a New Issue in the GitHub Joomla website repository and ask @HLeithner directly for support.

Fortunately Harald already reached out to me and is going to help me with my issue, so soon I will have access again :)
