We would not be wasting our time resurrecting this matter if someone had the courage to do as I suggested in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=960077, perhaps?

Re: how to add signature link .???
You need a certain amount of valid posts on the forum before you may add a signature, this is to stop the spammy "I have the same problem etc"posts

Re: why signature can not be added?
I am lost for words!
There are several discussion topics on this forum about the rules relating to forum signatures. The rules are clear: see viewtopic.php?f=8&t=65.
The main reason that many new users to the forum use these topics is for the purposes of flooding the forum with nonsense so as to increase their post count to the stage whereby they're allowed to add a forum signature. Some of the older topics have been locked, fortunately, in order to prevent this kind of forum abuse. Here is a list of some of those topics:
- viewtopic.php?f=615&t=840325
- viewtopic.php?f=706&t=802830
- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=717639
- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=851922

I repeat what I over a month ago:
At the very least, the topic has been stickied!sozzled wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 9:47 pmThe main reason that many new users to the forum ["ask questions" about how to add a forum signature] is for the purposes of flooding the forum with nonsense so as to increase their post count to the stage whereby they're allowed to add a forum signature. It may be an idea if these topics were merged together and make the merged topic sticky. Perhaps, in that way, this would address the surprise (?) that new forum members may have in saying that they were "not alerted" to the requirement?

Re: Adjust Profile
User Control Panel, but forget about signature. You will not be able to accumulate the number of posts required by signature unless you stop posting useless one-liners.

You need a minimum amount of posts before the signature feature will be active.supremsanaye wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:02 amHello, I am new to this forum, Please guide me to create a signature.
After 25 posts you will be able to set-up your signature in the User Control Panel.

Re: why signature can not be added?
I think it's probably a better idea to add the information into user control panel. Otherwise new member has no clue where to find the latest rule without searching for posts about it in the forum.

Re: why signature can not be added?
The rules are linked in the red box, at the top of the post listings for each forum/sub-forum and there's a very obvious link at the top of the page in the horizontal menu: Home, Private Messages, User Control Panel , Forum Rules.....etc.

Forum Signatures
Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum. I've been an amateur user of Joomla for years, more a pro user of WordPress. I wanted to join the forum and try and contribute some of my knowledge. I am not sure if signatures are disabled by default on new accounts? but it appears that new members are unable to set up signatures or avatars on this forum?

so...ask questions, or answer other questions, that's how you build your post count. The forum's a two-way street.

Re: why signature can not be added?
Welcome to Joomla forum! We have rule for 25 posts before you can add signature. This is to keep quality high and stop spam. We understand your point but this rule is important for our forum safety.
Don't worry about your signature. This forum is by and for Joomla users to help other Joomla users. So if you have a Joomla-related question, open a new topic, describe your problem and other Joomla users will probably be able to help you then.

Re: why signature can not be added?
No
I'm serious
just take a listen to me
what you need may be quality, not quatity. So instead of 25 posts, you can require 5 topics created by members themselves and you can moderate the quality of topics. If they contain quality you want, you can approve and in case of no quality, you won't approve. I think it's fair
I think forum/community is a place of freedom of speech, so I have the right to express my opinion, and my opinion may or may not be correct.
so I hope you accept my point of view as a freedom of speech
