why signature can not be added?

This was really confusing for me too since I was wondering why I am not able to add a signature.

Can this information about the required number of posts be added to the FAQ? It would save a lot of people a lot of time.

like this.
" signatures are only available after a set number of posts. this value can change from time to time. this prevents spamming. if we told you the number of posts then spammers would post silly one line posts, loads of +1's etc to get to that figure. if you cant work out why we do this use the forum search like you should have done first for the word signature"

Thought there would be a thread with this information on it. This is typically the main question asked first in any forum. That's why I didn't just randomly post a new topic like most members.

You have to have 25 post before you can make a signature.

Hi:

I just want to say, for the mods: I searched the Forum Rules, thoroughly--I even did a CTRL-F and typed the word "avatar", and the same for the FAQ, and nowhere does it say that you have to have 25 posts before you can upload an avatar, or whatever the limit is for a signature. I then searched for the word "avatar" in the forum, and spent about 10 minutes rummaging around to find this thread, which actually had an answer.

I'd like to recommend that you consider adding those post-count rules to the RULES and to the FAQ, so newbs like me will know them, and not have to ask. When I saw "avatar functionality is disabled," (and couldn't create a sig, either), I thought I'd done something WRONG. That my account was limited for some unknown reason. For those of us that DO actually read the Rules and FAQ, having that information available (or putting it somewhere in the User's CP, like the paragraph beneath "USER CONTROL PANEL"), would be useful.

Just a suggestion.

I appreciate that this forum supports discussion the issues for Joomla CMS.

yes, an thats why people who post keyword stuffed BB links to their wordpress (an other non joomla ) sites get

Please allow signatures to online users so that they can get some benefit of this world famous forum available for them on the internet.

they are allowed, obviously you want to allow signatures from one post wonders or people who want to link their wordpress sites from a joomla site. eventual devaluation the value of joomla forums.

It's to prevent spammers who post a couple of useless non-Joomla related messages only to get a signature to their non-Joomla website.

Some forums I know you have to submit your signature for approval before using. anyone who questions why is asked "why is having a signature so important. Read the rules that state self promotion including in signatures is auto banning. " spammers normally ask the question in their first post and then complain and are put on moderation For an Indefinite period.
