Choosing your Joomla version... ?

Post by Jaydot » Mon Mar 18, 2019 2:15 pm

Surely choosing to use an old Joomla version just because an extension you need isn't available for the newest version is not available is not good practice?
So shouldn't the description in the General Questions forum be updated?

Second that. It looks like remnance from when there were long term and short term versions of Joomla.

That text was added when 2.5 and 3.0 were both active maintained versions.
You are right, we should update the text.
Thanks for noting this!

I've removed "Please consider the availability of third-party templates and extensions when deciding which Joomla version to use." in both
General Questions/New to Joomla! 3.x
and
Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x

Thanks again!
