Excessive 'bot activity seems to be up again.

Further to viewtopic.php?f=7&t=975785, it appears the forum is experiencing high levels of 'bot activity as evidenced by unusually high page view with recently created/updated forum topics.

Reporting back. About half an hour after posting this topic on the forum (and attracting 580 page views in that time), the c-r-a-z-y 'bot activity softened and disappeared. I think it's important that, when the 'bots go feral, we bring these matters to the attention of those who manage the forum.

It's reassuring to see that the viewing "activity" in the forum has subsided to more normal levels. I'm not sure if this is the result of someone's intervention (and I don't mind if we don't get an explanation) but I think it's probably good for us to monitor the situation. Thanks.
