It doesn't look like the JTD Team are active on the forums in the meantime but you can find some recent updates on the Volunteers Portal at: https://volunteers.joomla.org/teams/tem ... am#reports

Just seen some intereting news buried in a Joomla Blog post
https://www.joomla.org/announcements/ge ... -2017.html
2018, what’s in store ...
2018 promises to be an exciting year. The highlight will undoubtedly be the launch of the next major version of Joomla - Joomla 4.
This will be complemented by the upcoming Template Directory, and a redesigned Joomla! Resource Directory (JRD).
So hopefully this will get done soon.

Just wanted to add that I built a few templates using protostar as base and it loads blazing fast. I am not allowed to post links here I guess but I am willing to contribute my templates for free.

We're two years further since the last post, six years since the start of this thread. I'm getting used to the idea that Joomla is history. To bad. Joomla! is a far better CMS than Wordpress but WP had great basic themes which I can use to create a child-theme. Joomla! is a CMS without basic templates which wasn't a problem when we started but which is a big problem in this age of multiple devices and screens.

Joomla is not dead. This forum category is dead but the Joomla CMS project and software development is very much alive. I asked for this forum category to be closed; my request not agreed to. I can't say any more than this.

I am watching this thread on the off chance that Joomla will activate a theme directory or at least drop some news about it (because the blog/news situation for joomla is horrible)

Joomla! is not dead but it certainly looks like a slow suicide.

i think everyone is working on version 4, however if joomla.org had all of its blogs combined into one people could see what was going on better.
