While I really really appreciate all the hard work improving the site - especially making the search work better I still can't stop thinking that as a CMS we should be using the CMS to provide the documentation.

As an example I tried to make a very simple change to some text yesterday and it was completely impossible without full knowledge of how chunks work and how to override the defaults. If I didn't have direct contact with George I would have just given up. If it had been joomla I would have made the changes in 30 seconds and moved along to another task.

I appreciate that when the wiki was launched it offered several features that Joomla did not but now that we have better ACL, core tags, multilingual, nested categories, smart search and hopefully very soon versioning shouldn't now be the time to stop developing the wiki and start to migrate it all to joomla.

After all we are a Content Management project - shouldn't we be using our own code.

... and I wish the style and design of the site was consistent with the rest of the joomla family of sites.

not visiting the docs site for a while,
and I was favorably surprised by the changes,

congratulations for your work,

but I agree with brian probably the time is ripe to migrate from the wiki to our CMS
