Protected Page

Post by loudy_ca » Sun Nov 17, 2019 2:06 am

Hello, how I can create a password protect page. that mean only specific people can access to a page in my site with a password.

Our site is not allowing any registration. also its for public, but what we are looking to do is:
we like to create a newsletter subscription, so any one enter his name and email will get a confirmation letter that has thank you message and it has a link with just one password.
so they can visit the link and enter the password to see the content of that page. as we would like to add some pdf files for them to view.

Please advise.

Probably you could review the extension AcyMailing Starter (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... g-starter/) for your need.

Similar extensions could be found at:

You could do this with Joomla permissions.

Create an Article and place links to your pdfs in that Article.

Then set that Article to "Registered" access (for example).

Create a new user account and allow that new user to access content as a Registered user.

The only caveat with this approach is that you would have to send a user name and password to each person who registers. You would send everyone the same user name and password.

This is just one approach, other folks may offer other approaches.

Hello, thank you, as I want to make it easy to everyone, instead of entering, username and password to view, how I can create a page that they enter only password to view it?

You could review extensions such as ECR - Easy Content Restriction (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... striction/).
