href destroys formatting in frontend

Post by Jess_Prak11 » Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:52 am

Hi everyone,

I inserted an opt-in form into one of my pages. two issues occurred.

1. For the GDPR I inserted a href that links directly to our GDPR page. The link works, however the formatting in the frontend is destroyed for this particular box. what can I do? I am attaching photos.

2. Although I set the Button Position on CENTER the button is fixed to the left side of the page. Even when I change the position to RIGHT it stays on the left side. (photos attached)

what can I do? Thanks for your support! :D

That depends on your Template and how divs are nested etc. If you can't edit the css then you need to get someone to do it for you. Perhaps if you post the link someone might see a quick fix?

Here is the link to the page. As mentioned before, the href destroys the formatting and on top of that I can´t fix the position of the button. I´d like it to be in the center.

I am using the HelixUltimate Template.

Can anyone help, please?

The div that the button is in is too narrow but it is an easy fix.

Find by right clicking the forms button selecting source and hilighting the div. Temp edit shows the change.
button position 01.JPG
To change it permanently
Open https://easy-erbrecht.de/components/com ... uilder.css for edit

Locate

Code: Select all

.button-wrap{margin-bottom:20px}
button position 02.JPG
and change it to

Code: Select all

.button-wrap{margin-bottom:20px;width:100%}
button position 03.JPG

hi,
thank you for your support.
I understand now what the problem is. I also investigated the button like you had suggested and I also understood how to do the temporary edit.
What I can´t manage is to open the link you provided to change it permanently. When opening the link, I am redirected to the code but it´s all static and I can´t make changes there.

What can I do?
Sorry for my late response!

css files can be temporarily edited in the browser.
You can edit them permanently in one of several ways.

Using the free tools (my preference because edits can be undone)
Use Filezilla ftp client and set Notepad++ as it's editor (first time you open a file for edit it will ask. Otherwise you can set it in Filezilla's options).

When you save the changes click for Filezilla to up load the edited file. Editing the file with Notepad++ can be undone even after they have been saved and uploaded.

All simple steps.
Download and install the two programs (just make note of the location Notepad++ saves to)
I set Filezilla to have the C: drive on the left and server files on the right.(Edit settings Layout classic)
Right click the file select Edit
Browse to Notepad++

From Joomla Admin
