Server update from MySQL 5.6 to MySQL 5.7 for an exsisting joomla website

Post by notebit » Wed Mar 10, 2021 4:45 pm

Hi,
I have a website running on Joomla 3.9 on a Centos Cpanel server with MySQL 5.6.
I would like to update to Mysql 5.7, anyone has experience with this?
Any problem or any correction due to the MySQL update for an existing joomla site?

One issue I had with 5.7 is that it does not allow zero dates.

I'm testing it on a test virtual server with mysql 5.7, copying all my domain there.
out of the box I can see the homepage, the administration, the search and some sections, but I get a 500 error on all the com_content articles

Hi, so I was able to update but as Per Yngve Berg said, I have a zero date issue on the tables.
If I try to set some index on content table, then I get an error about zero datetime format
I used phpmyadmin to set all the values with 0000-00-00 to NULL as default but I am not sure if it is safe to do so.
Can I have problems with joomla updates in the future?
