New user registration email - administrator

Post by markbullen » Sun May 09, 2021 4:26 pm

How do I configure/edit the email that is sent to the administrator when a new user registers? I can configure the email that goes to the new user in Community Builder but can't find where the admin email configuration is.

Thanks.

Since this is part of the registration process at Community Builder you should address your issue at their forums...It is not a Joomla issue

Thanks, but I think this is a Joomla system issue since there is nothing in the CB configuration panel for it. Seems to be something that is configured in Extensions/Languages/Override but I need to know the constant to search for.

You can search in the override tool for parts of the email text and get the language string then. Inside the edit form after clicking "New".
Sometimes confusing if plugins are involved that you have to set the "Set Language & Client" filter "illogically" before you go into the edit form ;-)
Sometimes the language strings contain HTML. Then use shorter text parts for the search.

Assuming you mean the email to the admin requesting the account be activated, as an example, below is the default sent by Joomla for normal registered users, requesting the site admin activate the account:
en-gb.com_users.ini wrote:COM_USERS_EMAIL_ACTIVATE_WITH_ADMIN_ACTIVATION_BODY="Hello administrator,\n\nA new user has registered at %s.\nThe user has verified their email address and requests that you approve their account.\nThis email has their details:\n\n Name : %s \n email: %s \n Username: %s \n\nYou can activate the user by selecting on the link below:\n %s \n"
This one was found in the /language/en_gb folder of your joomla installation.

There might be a similar language file for community builder. (I don't know the exact file name but maybe something like en-gb_com_users_CB.ini, and the constant something like COM_CB_USERS_EMAIL_ACTIVATE_WITH_ADMIN_ACTIVATION_BODY (the "CB" for "Community Builder")

As @Leo has indicated, it would be best to ask the Community Builder form for support on this - the above is just guesswork.

Thanks for your help...that sounds like it might work. I"ll give it a try.
Yes, I posted to the CB Forum but no help so far.
