Probably going to be a custom programming job, but.....

Post by trogladyte » Fri Jun 18, 2021 11:38 pm

https://static1.[spam].com/static/ ... y+Menu.pdf

and

https://static1.[spam].com/static/ ... r+Form.pdf

I'm rebuilding this site for the client (original is not my build) and I'd like to find a way (that's simple to admin and use) that combines the 2 PDFs linked above. At least, I'd like an online solution to the Order Form. The problem I'm running into is the changing day/date. I've tried it with a regular forms component, but the changing day and date has stumped me so far. A search of JED didn't turn anything up. As the post title says, I think the only way to deal with this may be a custom programming job, which I doubt the non-profit is into paying for!!

Sorry, your links to those PDFs are marked as spam in the forum, can't view them.

Use a form that stores the orders in the database. Fabrik can be used to build it.

https://fabrikar.com

As all Construction Kits, it have a steep learning curve.

I'm guessing that I could recommend five or six other CCKs ... but I'm not allowed to mention them by name on this forum because that's advertising and it's against the forum rules ...

Use the php function date_add to add days to date.

If I was building that site I would be using a calendar/event booking component - I know I could build it easily with either dpcalendar or jevents. There isn't anything special.

@Brian But can it easily be administered by my client (in either extension) from the frontend?

You might want to take a look at Events Booking from Joomdonation. I use it on a customer-managed site to do what you're looking to do. I've got clients who manage the extension's calendar & events from the front end.

@gsmela - yes, I'm very familiar with Events Booking, but I fail to see how an events calendar can be used to achieve what I need. Maybe I'm just slow.
